Have you ever been so angry at work that you were tempted to shout, or maybe swear at someone?

Other people can be frustrating. But...it’s not really other people that make you angry. It’s the stories you tell yourself about them.

👉 One story might say, “They’re doing this on purpose!”—and anger results.

👉 Another story says, “Maybe they’re just having a bad day”—and anger softens to annoyance.

Emotions are layered and complex. Anger feels immediate, but beneath it lie stories, perceptions, and reactions we can learn to manage. But first you need to give yourself time and space to become aware of them, to engage your brain before you act.

Here are 3 Simple techniques to master your anger:

1️⃣ The Red Traffic Light Technique: When you feel anger rising, imagine a red light. STOP. Pause. Take a moment to regain control. Then proceed calmly.

2️⃣ Triangular Breathing: Calm the body, calm the mind. Breathe in deeply, hold for 3 seconds, exhale slowly. Repeat until the anger melts away.

3️⃣ Change Your Story: Reframe your interpretation. Instead of assuming hostility, try curiosity or compassion. This shift changes everything.

Remember, you can control your emotions. It starts with awareness and practice.

💥 Don’t just manage your anger— experience it and make it work for you! 💥

Anger is energy and when focused, can fuel clarity, motivation, and better decisions.
