"This [psychological assessment] had been carried out, on joint instructions, by Dr. Michael Drayton, a consultant clinical psychologist, whose report is dated 26 October 2006.

Dr Drayton also gave evidence to the judge. In my judgment, his report is an impressive piece of work. The thoroughness of Dr. Drayton's work is demonstrated, in my judgment, not just by the
length of his report and the detail which it contains, but also by the range of issues
which he discussed with those whom he was assessing."

Lord Justice Wall

“I reject the suggestion that Dr Drayton and/or Professor Wilcox were
other than properly qualified experts. I also reject any suggestion that they have acted

in any way improperly in their role as experts in this case.

Dr Martindale's suggestions to the contrary are in my view illustrative of her loss of objectivity
and her belief that anyone who potentially undermines her claim in this litigation is
acting improperly to thwart her...I prefer the views of both Dr Denman and Dr Drayton
that it was not negligent… I certainly prefer the evidence of Dr Drayton on
this point...I find no breach of duty..."
